Fruit War is a family-friendly card game for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, that turns the classic War game into a quicker, wilder battle. Instead of just flipping cards, you aim to collect all cards by the sixth round, and special fruit and vegetable characters with unique designs add chaos and fun. The game ends immediately if one player grabs every card before round six—so watch out for the Tomato card, which can give you a crucial extra draw or dice roll in the biggest fights.

How Fruit War Works

Each player starts with a deck of cards featuring twelve different fruit and vegetable characters. On each turn, everyone flips the top card; the highest card wins that round. If two or more players tie, a battle begins: each tied player flips additional cards until a clear winner emerges. As the game progresses, more characters appear, making battles bigger and more intense. The goal is to win all cards by the end of round six. However, if one player manages to collect every card before that, they win instantly.

The Tomato Card and Special Characters

The Tomato card is the game’s wild card. You can use it to draw an extra card or, if you're in a massive battle, take an extra roll of the dice. Playing it at the right moment can swing the entire match. The deck includes twelve unique fruit and vegetable characters—like Wacky Watermelon, Laughin’ Lemon, Silly Strawberry, Chillin’ Cherries, Bodacious Banana, and Groovy Green Apple—that make every hand visually engaging. The backstory involves mischievous fruits infiltrating a vegetable kingdom’s card game, turning a predictable War match into a fruity spectacle.
