Similo Fables: Cooperative Deduction Card Game for Families – Guess the Secret Fairy Tale Character
Similo Fables is a cooperative deduction card game where 2 to 8 players work together to identify one secret fairy tale character. Designed for ages 8 and up, each game lasts about 20 minutes. One player takes the role of the Clue Giver, using cards from their hand to offer hints, while the other players collaborate to eliminate wrong characters until only the correct one remains—or they accidentally remove it and lose. The deck features 30 beautifully illustrated cards by Naïade, each showing a portrait, name, and brief description of a fable character.
How the deduction works
At the start, twelve character cards are placed face-up on the table. The Clue Giver secretly picks one as the target. On each turn, the Clue Giver plays a card from their hand and announces whether that card is similar to or different from the secret character. For example, if the secret character is Little Red Riding Hood, the Clue Giver might play the Big Bad Wolf and say “different” because they are opposites. The other players then remove one or more characters they believe are not the secret. This process repeats until only the correct character is left—a win—or it gets removed—a loss.
