This Hobbypower 10A brushed ESC delivers forward, reverse, and brake control for small-scale RC cars, boats, and tanks. Rated for 10A continuous current (20A burst, 30A pulse), it works with common 130 to 380 brushed motors and accepts 2S Li-Po or 4-7 cell Ni-Mh/Ni-Cd packs. At just 9 grams and 23x21x6mm, it fits 1/16 to 1/24 scale models.

What can you use this ESC with?

Designed for brushed motors in the 130, 180, 260, 280, and 380 size range, this 10A controller suits small RC vehicles like 1/16 to 1/24 scale cars, boats, and tanks. It handles 2S Li-Po batteries (7.4V) as well as 4 to 7 cell Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd packs. The built-in BEC supplies 5V at 1A to power your receiver and servos.

Current ratings and braking

The ESC is rated for 10A continuous current. Short bursts up to 20A for under 30 seconds are possible, and pulse loads of 30A for less than 5 seconds. A brake function is included, allowing you to stop the motor quickly. The drive frequency is 2KHz with an 8KHz PWM signal.

Questions buyers often ask

Does this ESC have a brake?

Yes, the brake function is built in. You can use it to stop the motor when you cut throttle, which is useful for precise control in cars and boats.

What is the BEC voltage and current?

The BEC outputs 5V at 1A. This is enough to power a standard receiver and one or two micro servos typical for small-scale models.

How many ESCs are in the package?

The pack contains two identical 10A brushed ESCs, each with brake function.

Can I use this ESC with a 380 motor?

Yes, it is compatible with 380 brushed motors. However, make sure the motor’s stall current does not exceed the ESC’s 10A continuous rating for sustained operation.

Why buy a two-pack?

Having two ESCs allows you to build a vehicle with separate motor control for steering or differential driving, common in tank models. It also gives you a ready spare if one unit fails, minimizing downtime during projects.

Compact size for tight spaces

Measuring only 23 mm long, 21 mm wide, and 6 mm tall, each ESC weighs just 9 grams. This small footprint makes it easy to fit into cramped chassis of 1/16, 1/18, and 1/24 scale models. The two-pack gives you a spare or allows dual-motor setups.
